Meet The Team

Dr. Justin Anderson

Justin Anderson, Psy.D., LP is a licensed psychologist who specializes in high performance psychology and leadership. He has helped athletes and high level performers in sport and business gain an advantage in their mindset and mental preparation for the last twenty years.

He currently helms contracts with several professional and Olympic organizations where he and the rest of the Premier team do psychological profiling for the NBA and NFL drafts, as well as individual and team development work to improve performance and overall wellness.

A frequent keynote speaker at national sport and business conferences, and contributor to local and national media programs/publications, Dr. Anderson has become a pioneering voice in the value and implications of mindset training to performers of all kinds.

Dr. Carlin Anderson

Carly Anderson, Ph.D, LP is a licensed psychologist and a Certified Mental Performance Consultant who has worked in the fields of mental health and performance psychology for over a decade. An accomplished practitioner and researcher, she was awarded the United States Order of Ikkos Medallion at the 2018 Olympic Games for her work with U.S. Olympic athletes, and her research has been published in the Journal of Science & Medicine in Sport, Psychology of Sport and Exercise, the Journal of Sport & Exercise Psychology, the Journal of Exercise, Sport and Performance Psychology, Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport, and the Journal of Sport Behavior, among other peer-reviewed journals in psychology and mental health.

Dr. Anderson appears often in television and print media as an expert in psychology, performance enhancement, and body image in sport, including appearances on Minnesota Public Radio, and in the Seattle and New York Times.

Dr. Adam Gallenberg

Dr. Adam Gallenberg is a researcher and content contributor for Premier Sport Psychology’s online programs.  Dr. Gallenberg is a licensed sport psychologist, receiving his undergraduate degree from Drake University, and his master’s and doctoral degrees in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas and the University of Iowa, respectively.  His research specializations have included drawing correlations between exercise and mental health, and he has provided individual counseling and team interventions for the athletic department at Illinois State University.

Dr. Ben Merkling

Ben Merkling, Psy.D., is a mental health counselor and sport psychologist who has spent the last several years working with college students and student athletes through the university counseling centers at St. Thomas and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. His research specialization is in mindfulness, where he completed his doctoral dissertation on the effect of mindfulness meditation on performance and flow experiences.

Dr. Jamie Rubin

Dr. Jaime Rubin is a researcher and content contributor for Premier Sport Psychology’s online programs.  She is a postdoctoral fellow, having earned both her M.A. and Doctorate degrees in Counseling Psychology, with a specialization in Sport Psychology, from Springfield College.  Dr. Rubin has worked with student-athletes at a number of Division I, II, and III institutions, including the University of Oklahoma Psychological Resources for OU Student-Athletes (PROS), American International College, and Connecticut College.  She also served as a counseling and mental training specialist for cadets at the United States Coast Guard Academy and the Collegiate Baseball League of Europe.

Dr. Chrissy Holm

Dr. Chrissy Holm is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant and content contributor for Premier Sport Psychology’s online programs.  Chrissy earned her Ed.D. in Sport and Performance Psychology from the University of Western States, and an M.A. in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Brunel University in London.  As an undergraduate, Chrissy won a Big Ten and NCAA National Championship as a rower, and went on to win a gold medal for Team USA at the U-23 World Rowing Championships in 2012.
